Consistently, one of the best Arneis and a great value.  Light to medium gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is vibrant with green apples, almonds, and a touch of lemon peel.  Some minerality, too.  Medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is tasty.  Not as crisp as the 2022 but more rounder edges.  Flavors of apples with some lemon and minerality.  Good finish.  This drinks easily on its own but will work nice with many foods.  It would work well with a Chestnut Agnolotti pasta dish.  Drink over the next few years.

This white wine is 100% Pinot Grigio from Northeast Italy.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with pears, minerality and just a touch of white floral notes.  Medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is refreshing and tasty.  Plenty of pear fruit and minerality.  Good finish.  This is nice on its own and even better with food.  It went very nicely with a chilled pasta dish.  Drink over the next couple of years.

This is fast becoming one of my favorite Rosés at it is outstanding but also affordable.  It is a 50/50 blend of Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile.  Light orange/pink in color, clear and bright.  The nose has nice cherries, slight orange citru, and peach.  Light to medium bodied.  Creamy texture.  Crisp acidity.  On the palate, this is very refreshing.  Flavors of cherries, oranges and some peach notes.  Long finish.  This is nice on its own and will work with many foods.  It worked well with assorted hard cheeses and crackers.

2022 Muri-Gries Lagrein, Italy, Alto Adige, Wine Review

Vintage:
2022
Score:

Grade:

Lagrein doesn't get enough attention so I was glad to be able to taste this wine.  It is a Polaner Selection (Importer) which is always a good sign.  Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cherries, dust and black cherries.  Medium to full bodied.  Medium tannins.  Good acidity.  On the palate, flavors of black cherries with a bit of cherries.  Lots of depth.  Long finish.  This is nice on its own but better with food.  It would be best with a hearty pasta dish, perhaps in a mushroom cream sauce.  Drink over the next ten years.
