This is a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8.5% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4.5% Merlot and 1% Malbec. Although 2017 wasn't the best vintage in Napa, there seems to be no issue with ripeness on this wine. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is tight but opens in the glass to show cassis, black cherries, cedar, graphite and spice. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Soft texture. On the palate, this starts out tight but opens with air. It is not as deep as the other vintages tasted but has great fruit. Flavors of cassis, black cherries, spice and slight dark chocolate. Long finish. This drinks well with a bit of air. Nice on its own, this will work well with food. It went very well with Vichyssoise. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.
