2018 Opus One, USA, California, Napa, Wine Review

Another vintage that will end up with a 100 score with a bit of ageing.   It is a blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec.  Ruby/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is great with cassis, dust, cedar, dark chocolate and char.  Full bodied.  Great texture.  Big tannins.  On the palate, this is deep and concentrated.  Complex if tight.  Flavors of cassis, char and spice.  Long finish.  This is delicious but needs three or five years in a good cellar to hit peak.  It drinks great alone and worked well with Lasagna.  Drink over the next twenty to thirty years.
