Labelled as a Sekt.  Pale silvery gold/green in color.  There is a nice row of small bubbles at the rim of the glass.  The mousse dissipates rapidly.  The nose is a bit soapy with light green apples.  Its much more intense on the palate with tart green apples.  Pretty crisp, this would go well with a wide variety of foods.  The tart finish livens up the palate and entices the drinker to have another sip.  At under $20, this is a nice value in sparkling wine.  A bit less fruity and more tart than a Prosecco or a Cava in the same prices range.

This is a very nice value.  It retails for $15.  Medium gold in color.  The nose has white flowers, slight lime and slight fresh asparagus.  On the palate, there is good acidity.  It has a len texture but not wimpy.  Nice lime and a lot of minerality.  Good finish.  Dry.  Very food friendly.  A perfect white for a summer night.

This has evolved nicely over the last year and seems to be in a great place right now.  Deep golden in color but still with a green tinge to it.  On the nose there is an almost Gardenia/white flower note.  Also nice minerality and slight limes.  On the palate, there is a strong mineral tone to the wine.  Very good acidity.  Lower alcohol which also makes the texture thinner but more lively.  A bit of lime peel.  Long finish.  This is very food friendly.  $20 retail.  It probably needs to be consumed by 2020 although Grüner does age well.

And now for something completely different.  Ruby in color.  The nose has black peppercorns, with some cherry/cranberry notes.  On the palate, this  is thin but still has structure and strength.  Good acidity.  The peppery red berry notes continue thru.  Would work with a lot of different foods.  In fact, it really does beg for food to tame the acid and flavors.  A really interesting wine.
