The Willamette Valley is Oregon’s de factor Pinot Noir region. But there are other regions that grow Pinot and are beginning to stand out. One of these is the Rogue Valley, Oregon’s southernmost wine growing region. The winery itself is just six years old, but they already have a proven track record. This is a lighter style of Pinot Noir –delicate strawberry, blackberry and black cherry, lingonberry, raspberry and plum will out the wine. The tannic structure is mild and the acidity is spot on. Using four unique clones of Pinot - Pommard is the more dominant - this a sleeper wine, one that surprises you as it goes along. There is a surprising complexity that slowly opens up. Given it’s price under $20, this is, in fact, a steal. ORIGIN: Rogue Valley, Oregon. ALCOHOL: 13.3%
