2020 Tenuta Cucco Barolo Cerrati, Italy, Piedmont, Wine Review

This is 100% Nebbiolo from Cerrati in Serralunga D'Alba.  Ruby in  color, clear and bright with some orange hues and rim.  The nose is concentrated with cherries, black cherries, spice, slight vanilla, tobacco and slight char.  Medium to full bodied.  Nice acidity and balance.  Firm tannins.  On the palate, this is very concentrated with cherries, black cherries, earthy, slight char and anise.  Long finish.  This needs some cellaring to really show its best.  If drinking soon, give it plenty of air.  Very good on its own, but better with food.  Truffle Risotto would be excellent.  Drink over the next ten to twenty years.  With proper ageing the score should go up maybe as much as three points.
