This is a classic Barossa Shiraz.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is great with black raspberries, black licorice and slight violet notes.  Full bodied.  Medium to firm tannins.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Flavors of black raspberries, black cherries, spice, black pepper and slight roasted meats.  Long finish.  This is still young and will benefit from a few more years in a good cellar.  Drink over the next ten to fifteen.  This is great on its own and will work well with roasted meats or root vegetables.  Excellent value.

This is a different chardonnay from their famous "Artist's Series" but is quite good.  About half of the batches are treated with sulfur but the others are not before combining them.  The Leeuwin people this leaves a fresher but still protected white wine.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is intense with lemons, slight vanilla, slight spice and some crushed shells/salinity.  Full bodied texture.  Good acidity.  Very light tannins.  On the palate, lemons, slight lemon cream, grapefruit along with just a touch of minerality.  Long finish.  This is very nice on its own but b

This is a slightly sweet Riesling from the Clare Valley in southern Australia.  Green/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose opens with some peach notes that adds some green apple scents.  There is also a slight flinty note.  Medium bodied, slightly viscous.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is semi-sweet with flavors of peach, slight green apples and just a hint of minerality.  Good finish.  served to a bunch of professed "Riesling haters", this proved to be popular.  It is also food friendly but don't forget the sweetness.  This would go great with a Beet and Goat Cheese salad.  Dri

This was a bit different than a bottle of this I recently opened.  Both were excellent, but this one had an issue or two.  Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cherries, dust, slight anise and slight char.  Medium to full bodied.  Great acidity.  Light to medium tannins.  On the palate, this has cherries, slight black cherries, celery and spice.  The green note gets bigger on the finish.  Overall, this is a very good wine, but the green streak is  a bit disappointing.  Still, this wine is made to drink with food and that should help out that issue.  Pappardelle al R

From one of the best producers in Niagara, Cabernet Franc is proving to be a red well within Niagara's wheelhouse.  This has a deep ruby color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cranberries and cherries along with a bit of an herbal streak.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, cranberries, cherries and slight black cherries along with some tobacco and a bit of mint(?).  Good finish.  This is drinking well now and should drink well for another five to eight years.  Nice on its own, this will also work well with foods.  This would be a nice wine to drink with Lebanese food such as Kafta.

This is Cabernet Franc from the Loire Valley in France.  It is from the wineries youngest vines and aged in concrete.  Ruby  in color with some purple and blue hues, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is sweaty/dusty with cherries and strawberries and a bit of black pepper.  Medium tannins.  Tart acidity.  On the palate, cherries with a touch of strawberries.  A streak of heat on the finish.  This is nice on its own but really needs some food.  It would be nice with some fatty meats, say a Lamb Stew. Drink over the next five to eight years.

This was better than expected.  The grape is Kekfrankos which is also known as Blaufrankish.  Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose has just a bit of funk, but also cherries, sour cherries, slight tobacco, and black pepper.  Medium bodied.  Light to medium tannins.  Good acidity.  On the palate, flavors of cherries, sour cherries, slight asphalt and an interesting "saw dust" note that is not oak.  This is really an interesting and tasty wine.  Nothing profound perhaps but good enough to demand some respect in the glass.  Nice on its own, this would be better with food.  Paprikas

This is 100%Trebbiano-Romagnolo from the center of Italy (Emilia-Romagna).  Silvery/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is interesting.  it opens with a "fleshy" quality and then fresh cut hay, and some pineapple.  There is also a bit waft of herbs in the background.  Light to medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, lemons with slight pineapple and some minerality.  Good finish.  A lighter wine but there is some substance to it.  Nice on its own, this would be a nice wine with a room temperature pasta salad (or even cold).  Drink over the next few years.

First time trying this producer.  Pale green/silver/gold in color, slightly cloudy but bright.  The nose has some "sock drawer" notes on the nose but also apples, slight petrichor and a bit of oak/spice.  Light tannins.  On the palate, lemons, slight char and slight apple.  Good acidity.  Nice finish.  This is a nice Chablis that would be better with food.  Of course, Oysters or other shellfish but also soft cheeses.  Drink over the next five to eight years.
