This is a sparkling wine made from 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay.  It utilized the Charmat method (trapping the bubbles in steel tanks) to make a lovely yet inexpensive sparkling wine.  Salmon pink in color with a steady stream of small bubbles.  The nose is nice with strawberries, rhubarb and slight cherries.  Full bodied with good acidity.  On the palate, this has tangy red fruit including cherries and strawberries.  Some depth.  Long finish.  At this price, a terrific value.  A nice wine for celebrations or for just enjoying.  Nice on its own, this is very food friendly and would go

This comes in a cute 175ml package with a plastic stopper, screw top and glass bottle.  A nice size for someone who wants one large or two smaller servings.  There is no indication about what varietals are in the wine other than the grapes are organic.  There are many options available from this winery which gets grapes from all over the world.  The wine has a pale green gold color, clear and bright.  The nose features peaches and Meyer lemons.  Light bodied.  On the palate, peaches with good acidity.  Nice finish with a bit of (bitter) almonds.  These would work well for a picnic.  Drink o

This is their non-designated base Cab.  A truly excellent bottle in its own right.  Purple in color, opaque and inky.  The nose has cassis, slight coffee, slight leather, and spice.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Not an over powering wine, but plenty of fruit and backbone.  Notes of cassis, char, slight coffee grounds and spice.  Clean.  Nice balance.  Long finish.  This is obviously young, but very enjoyable.  it should drink well for the next fifteen to twenty years.  Great on its own, this will work well with all but the lightest dishes.  It should wor

Wow.  Beautiful wine.  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has slight tangerine, pears, chalk and a bit of ginger.  Full bodied.  Dry.  Deep if still tight.  Great balance.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Young, so if drinking soon, give it air.  Notes of ginger, pears and slight burnt orange peel.  Long finish.  This is great now, but still may improve a bit.  Drink over the next twenty years.  Great on its own or with food.  This would work well with grilled Trout.

With most of my favorite Chablis producers now selling their wines for (well) north of $100 per bottle, Dampt has become one of our go to Chablis.  Golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is slightly chalky with some minerality and slight lemon.  Also some salinity.  Full bodied.  Crisp acidity.  On the palate, lemons, chalk and minerality.  Long finish.  Delicious.  This drinks well but better with food.  Shellfish is ideal but so is Hummus and Roasted Veggies.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.

Chidaine is one of our favorite producers of win es in the Loire Valley.  Compared to most Sancerre's or Pouilly Fume's, this is a tremendous value if you like Lorie Sauvignon Blanc (the ancestral home of the grape).  Not sure, well for the price, it sure seems worth checking out.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has minerality, hay, peach and slight grapefruit.  Light bodied.  Good balance.  On the palate, minerality with grapefruit.

This is a very nice premier cru Burgundy.  Garnet in color, clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, slight cinnamon, and spice.  Medium bodied.  Very light tannins.  On the palate, cherries, slight sour cherries with a bit of spice.  Nice finish.  Drinking well now and should continue for another seven to ten years.  Nice on its own but probably better with food.  Salmon would be a nice choice.
