Golden in color, some orange hues, clear and bright.  The nose is lovely with apricot, peach, slight honey  and a slight bitter note.  Viscous.  Full bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, slightly sweet, not cloying.  Honey and apricot.  Long finish.  A good year if not great.  Nice value.  Drink over the next five to ten years.  It works well with a shortbread (not too sweet) cookie.

This is a blend of 57% Syrah, 24% grenache, and 19% Mourvedre from Paso Robles.  It lists 15.9%abv.   Inky purple in color, opaque and shimmering bright.  The nose is deep with black raspberries, char, roasted meats and "purple" flowers.  Full bodied.  Light to medium tannins.  Great energy.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this is almost seamless with a plush texture but enough acidity to keep it lively.  Flavors of black raspberries, some black cherries with char and a bit of earthiness.  Long finish.  Despite the high alcohol, it is not evident on the nose or palate.  At age 10, this is ju

JJ Prum's always offer up some of the best Rielsing values anywhere and this one is included.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is great.  Peaches, "wet rocks", and just a hint of sulfur.  Medium bodied.  Slightly viscous.  Enough acidity.  On the palate, peaches, very slight pineapple and minerality.  Long finish.  Delicious.  This is showing plenty of depth and some complexity as it opens.  Consumed over tow nights, it was better on night two.  Great on its own, but worked very well with some good, soft cheeses.  Drink over the next twenty years.

The grapes for this wine come from the Wy'east vineyard.  Wy'east is the Native American name for Mt. Hood.  Light silvery gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose has pears, slight citrus and almond.  Light bodied.  On the palate, pears and citrus.  This is an easy drinking, lighter wine.  The folks at Sineann suggest Sushi as a pairing and that sounds about right.  Drink over the next year or two.  A very nice value.

One of our favorite Chardonnay producers.  Light golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose has great minerality along with a bit of lemons, spice and char.  Full  bodied.  Crisp acidity.  Slightly creamy texture.  On the palate, this has great lemon notes with underlying minerality and a touch of char.  Long finish.  This is great on its own, but there is a strong backbone of acidity that will make it better with food.  It would be a good wine to have with lobster.  Drink over the next ten years.

What a cool wine.  This is a sweet Sherry.  The grapes were grown in 1964 and harvested in August and the grapes were dried into a must.  After about a year, the wine was made and then stored in Amontillado Butts.  This particular bottling was done in 2022.  We enjoyed it with a friend who is turning 60 and so was his birth year.  The bottle was 200ml and very pretty.  Basically a rectangular shape and sealed with a glass closure.  The wine itself was ethereal.  Deep, dark brown (think dark Molasses) in color.  Bright and opaque.  The nose is great with coffee beans, slight char, slight ver

A friend turned 60 and purchased this wine to share with his friends.  This was an excellent vintage and the wines at the time were meant to age a long time often not enjoyable in their youth.  Of course, sixty years is pushing it, and then add to that questions of storage, etc., but this wine was very  enjoyable if showing some age.  The wine is pretty in the glass but bricked all the way across.  Still, it was bright and clear.  There is some volatile acidity on the nose but not a lot and it helps bring out the aromatics.  The nose is dusty with cherries, dried cherries and dried floral n

No, not that Lafite.  It's Lafitte with two "t"s.  It is hard to find any information about this estate, but the wine was good.  Purple in color if a bit flat.  Mostly opaque.  The nose has cassis and spices.  Medium bodied.  Bright acidity.  Nice texture.  On the palate, nice cassis fruit turning a bit tart on the finish.  It drinks well now and should be nice for another three to five years.  It is nice on its own and will work with food such as Roasted chicken.

This is the second wine of Chateau Montrose.  The blend is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot.  Purple in color, shimmering bright and opaque.  The nose has cassis, sandalwood, spice, and tobacco.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  On the palate, this is deep and powerful.  Cassis, and earthy with some char.  Long finish.  This will drink well for another ten years.  It will go well with a steak but also a home made Macaroni and Cheese.

Purple in color, opaque if slightly flat.  It seems young for a wine to be flat, so this may not be a pristine bottle.  The nose is earthy with cassis and spice.  Also some char.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this has a soft texture.  Light tannins.  Black cherry fruit with good acidity.  Moderate finish.  No obvious flaws and it drinks easily.  Drink over the next five to seven years.  A nice wine for a beef or lamb stew.
