This sparkling wine from the Loire Valley is 100% Chenin Blanc. Light golden in color with a fair amount of quickly disappearing medium bubbles. The nose has seltzer and minerality. Medium bodied. On the palate, bitter almonds with a hint of orange peel. Shorter finish. A very pleasant wine as an aperitif. Nice on its own, it should be very food friendly. Fried appetizers would work well. Drink over the next year or two.
This is a sparkling wine (Methode Traditionelle) made from Chenin Blanc in the Loire Valley of France. Yellow/gold in color with slight green hues, mostly clear and bright. This is a sparkling wine from the Loire Valley made from Chenin Blanc grapes. The wine receives zero dosage. It is made in the pétillant style using "natural" winemaking techniques (no added sulfites). Pale gold in color, clear and bright. Lots of quickly disappearing, medium sized bubbles. The nose is lovely with green apples, with a slight smoky note and some minerality. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, sour apples, some green apples and minerality. This is mostly dry. Nice on its own, but better with food. This is versatile and will work with a wide variety of foods
This is a Chenin Blanc from the central part of the Loire Valley. Medium "olde" gold in color with just a touch of copper. The nose is very nice with lots of minerals, a bit of salinity and some orange peel. On the palate, this is dry. Nice citrus with some orange pith and underlying minerality. Slightly tart on the finish. A lovely, slightly oily texture. Chenin ages very well and this is still drinking well.
I brought this to dinner with a couple that usually take a small pour of my whites and move quickly on. Not this time. They both went back for seconds, which is of course, the best compliment to the wine. Really in a good place, but it is Chenin Blanc, so it has a long life ahead of it. Light golden in color.
