This is made from 100% Piedirosso grapes in Campania, Italy near Mt. Vesuvius.  The name comes from a legend that when God looked down at the area, he cried from its beauty.  The wine itself is very nice and a bit lighter in style than the Aglianicos from the area.  The nose has cherries, cranberries and some plum notes.  Clean.  Meidum bodied.  Good acidity.  Light tannins.  On the palate, mostly cherry fruit with some cranberry notes.  Moderate finish.  It is nice on its own but really works better with food.  Assorted hard cheeses work, but a pizza is perfect.  Drink over the next few years.
