This is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Shiraz, 12% Tanat, 11% Malbec, 7% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc from Israel. It is certified Kosher. Purple in color with a thin ruby rim. The nose is nice with cassis, black cherries, plums, spice and slight chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, nice black cherry fruit with some cassis and spice. Long finish. This is drinking well now and should continue for the next few years. It is nice on its own but will work well with food. A good wine to serve with Roasted Chicken.

The Yatir Forest is on the edge of the Negev desert in southern Israel. I have had this wine before and thought it was labelled Negev but this 2012 vintage is labelled Judean Hills. I am not sure where the boundaries of the wine regions are. According to the label, this is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Petite Verdot, and 9% Tannat. Inky purple in color. The nose has cassis, plums, char and baking spices. On the palate, this is more boysenberry with black cherries over a gravelly char. Slight tannins. Nice finish. During our Seder, my son commented that he was surprised they made wine in the Negev desert in southern Israel. i told him that not only did they make wine, they made some great wines. This bottle, which we had purchased in Israel a few years back, was brought up and opened. It needed some air, so we decanted and gave it some vigorous swirling before serving. Even then, it really needed more air and a glass in the decanter the next day was the best. The wine is made from 58% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, 32% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot grapes, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc. Purple in color

This is a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot, and 4% Syrah from Israel. Purple in color with a ruby rim, mostly opaque and bright. This is a proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Verdot and Merlot from Israel. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is deep and complex with cassis, black raspberries, char, moist earthiness, and spice. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Nice balance. On the palate, this has ripe black cherry fruit along with plums, spice, slight chocolate and char. Long finish. This is tasty and drinks easily on its own and will work well with many foods. It should be a natural with Brisket (the Jewish kind). It is Kosher. Drink over the next three to five years.

This is a modern style of Chardonnay from the center of Israel. It is 90% Chardonnay with 10% Sauvignon Blanc added. This is a very nice white with energy and some verve to it. Light golden in color. The nose has lemons and minerals. Slight oak but no butter. On the palate, this is clean with nice minerality and slight lemon/citrus. Good length. It is drinking well now and probably should be drunk up in the next year. It will go well with lighter foods, salads and sea foods.
