Yes, this is very young but even so, what a wine! It is a blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a bit of Cabernet Franc from Bolgheri Sassicaia, Tuscany. Yes, it is the only wine in Italy to have its own DOCG. Inky purple in color, opaque and shimmering bright. The nose is tight but opens to show cassis, spice, tobacco, char, and sandalwood. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Great energy and balance. A bit more open on the palate but still very young. Cassis, black cherries, tobacco, spice and char. Tightly layered and very concentrated. Long finish. If drinking soon, give this a very long decant, but best to wait at least ten years. Drink over the next thirty to forty years. If drinking soon, it will need big (fatty) foods such as a steak but also Roasted Squash or other Root vegetables will work. No doubt with a few more years, this gets a 100 score.
