This is sort of "middle of the road" in style for a Napa Cab and is quite good. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is deep with cassis, roasted herbs, spice and slight cedar. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Great balance. On the palate, this is very concentrated. Still quite youthful. Flavors of cassis, slight black cherries, with a bit of camphor and spice. Long finish. This needs more time or a few hours in a decanter. It will improve with good cellaring. Hold for three to five years and drink for ten to fifteen after that. It is great on its own and would work with bigger foods. A nice wine with Prime Rib.
