Although quite young, this was a very impressive wine already. Ruby/brown in color, clear and bright. The nose is pretty with cherries, strawberries, wild herbs and just a hint of earthiness. Medium to full bodied. Firm tannins. Great balance. On the palate, this is tasty with nice cherry fruit, some strawberry notes, minerality and a bit more earthiness. Deep but it slowly unwinds in the glass. Nice finish. This needs at least another five to ten more years in the cellar or a long decant. Lots of upside to the score on this. Drink over the next twenty years. It needs food. Braised or slow cooked meats over pasta would be a nice pairing.
