Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some limes, plenty of minerality and a bit of a sweaty sock note. With air, a sweet-tart quality comes out. On the palate, this is soft but tasty. Limes with underlying minerality. A bit of white pepper. Shorter finish. Drink over the next year or two. This will work nicely with baked trout.
A lovely Gruner that is typically their lightest in the portfolio. Pale gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with green apples, slight lemons and minerality. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is crisp and clean with a lime sweet-tart to it with some white pepper. Nice finish. Drink over the next five to ten years. This will work well with lighter dishes including fish and chicken.
This is made from some of the younger vines they own. Golden in color with some bubbles. It appears to be trapped CO2 and nothing worse that gave the wine a bit of a frizzante quality. On the palate, slight limes, nice minerality, and a bit of herbs (sage?). On the palate, this has a nice vibrancy. Some spritz. Lemon-lime notes, slight ripe/sweet quality, with underlying minerality. A bit of tannins on the finish. An interesting wine that should drink well over the next five to eight years. It will work well with lighter foods though pork might be a nice choice to go with the sage
This is sourced from various terraced vineyards and younger vines. Screw capped. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is expressive. Tangerine peel, peaches with a slight minerality. Medium bodied. Lively acidity. On the palate, green apples, lemons, and minerals. Lots of energy. This is fresh and easy to drink but has some depth, too. It is refreshing on its own but will work with goat chees and roasted beet salad. Drink over the next four to six years.
Steinfeder is the lowest category in the ripeness classification of white wines in Austria's Wachau Valley. It means the wines have a mandated maximum alcohol level of 11.5 percent. The result is that the wines have a lighter body and tend to drink easier and sooner. Silvery gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has limes and slight white pepper. Medium bodied. On the palate, tart limes. Good acidity. Long finish. This is very food friendly and would go well with pasta primavera. Drink over the next few years.
This is very young but really showing some stuffing. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with limes, white pepper, and slight grapefruit. Medium to full bodied. Nice, slightly oily texture. On the palate, this is dry. Notes of lemons, limes and some black pepper. Good acidity. Long finish. This could use five years in the cellar, but it is drinking well now. Drink over the next five to ten years. Nice on its own, this would be nice with Veal Chops.
