Light pink/orange in color. The nose has some slight watermelon and a bit of grapefruits. This is an easy, light rose on the palate. Refreshing notes of cherries and some cinnamon. Around $16, this is nice for a party.
This is a surprisingly big and bold Pinot Noir. The surprise is more that it is from the Santa Lucia Highlands. The vines were planted in 2008. Although 2017 wasa bit lighter of a vintage in Sonoma/Napa, it would appear that down in Monterey, there was no issue in getting fruit ripe. Certainly not for this wine. It has a very pretty ruby/garnet color. Clear and bright. The nose shows coffee, black cherries, and a slight rhubarb. With air a bit of brown sugar emerges. What a lovely Rosé and a great value as well. Sort of a pink/purple/blue color with the pink dominating, clear and bright. Very pretty. The nose is nice with typical light cherries, strawberries and watermelon but also some interesting tangerine/orange notes and a bit of a dried herbal note. Medium bodied. Semi-plush texture. Good acidity. On the palate, this is tasty with cherries, some watermelon and again a bit of orange citrus that seems to give it a jolt of acidity that livens it up and makes it very food friendly. Nice finish. It drinks very well now and will work well with a
Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with an earthy cherry quality to it. Perhaps some woodsy tree bark as well. On the palate, this has a soft, creamy texture. Cherries, slightly sour with depth. Tight layers that open in the glass. Nice finish. This seems like it would age nicely over the next ten to fifteen years. Drinking well right now. This will match with a wide variety of foods from Salmon to Turkey and more. Upside overtime is likely.
This is a serious Rose made from Pinot Noir grapes in California. Very pale orange/pink in color, clear and bright. The nose has light strawberries and some watermelon. A nice, slightly oily texture. The palate has nice strawberries. Very clean. Refreshing. Nice finish. This drinks well on its own and would work well with foods. Grilled salmon would be a nice choice.
