Purple in color. The nose has dark cherries, saw dust, some plums and cedar. On the palate, this is slightly sweet. Cherries. Woody. This is a simple California Cab available for around $15. It makes not pretense about what it is. Drinkable. Good for a party.
This is an easy drinking Napa Cabernet. Purple in color with some garnet swirls, opaque and bright. The nose is nice with cassis, black cherries, roasted herbs and a hint of cedar. Full bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, the black cherries move to the forefront. Nice texture. Some depth. Clean. Moderate acidity. Solid finish. This is drinking well right now and will work on its own or with food. It went well with potato filled pierogis. Drink over the next five to eight years.
This is a nice solid Napa Cabernet that often shows up on restaurant lists. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, coffee, slight chocolate and a slight herbal note. Full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, lots of cassis, some chocolate and just a hint of spice. Nice finish. This drinks nicely on its own and will work great with a steak or burger. Drink over the next five to eight years.
This bottle was brought to our house by friends. Frankly, I am not sure who as it was a party and then left unopened. My wife was having book club, and so it seemed like a good choice. This proved to be very popular and it was lucky I got a glass to taste. A very interesting wine. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, some dustiness to it, and just a hint of what can best be described as sweet oak. On the palate, there are strong tannins. The cassis follows thru but there is a sweetness to the wine that is similar to that of Bourbon Barrel Aged beers although not nearly as pronounce
Very nice vintage for this perennial favorite. Purple in color with some Ruby swirls. Mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries, cassis, spice and slight chocolate. Full bodied. On the palate, there is plenty of depth. Lots of cassis and some black cherry fruit. Good finish. This is a delicious wine. Light tannins. It drinks great on its own and will work well with food. Raosted turkey would be a nice match. Drink over the next ten years.
