Wow was this wine singing. This performed was above expectations and is in a GREAT spot right now. Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. On the nose, cherries, slight dried cherries, floral notes, anise and slight tobacco. Medium to full bodied. Medium to firm tannins. Great acidity. On the palate, this is one of the more elegant Barbarescos I have had yet it still has enough power and concentration to be limited. Layers of complexity but still youthfully vibrant. Flavors of cherries, anise and slight earthiness. Long finish. This is great on its own but better with food. Braised Lamb with Roasted vegetables would be classic. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.
