Great wine in a great place right now. Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is classic. Complex and deep. Aromas of cherries, slight dried cherries, slight rhubarb, slight black cherries with a touch of dust, sandalwood and forest floor. Medium bodied. Light tannins. Great energy and balance. On the palate, this is delicious. Also a nice complexity with layers of cherries, black cherries, black raspberries and underlying forest floor and slight earthiness. Long finish. It would be nice to drink on its own as a contemplative wine but it will go well with most foods. Beef Bourguignon would be a classic match. Just about at peak, this should drink well for another ten to fifteen years.
