One of the best Merlots made anywhere.  At age 16, this is getting closer to maturity if not there yet.  it has 4% Cabernet Franc and the rest Merlot.Purple in color with ruby swirls. Mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is great with black cherries, cherries, milk chocolate, 5 spice powder and slight cigar box.  Full bodied.  Light to medium tannins.  Great balance.  On the palate, this is complex, deep and delicious.  Flavors of cherries, milk chocolate, slight earthiness and spice.  Long finish.  This may improve a bit but is getting close to peak.  That said, it should be at this level for another ten to fifteen years.  Great on its own, this will work well with lots of food.  A great choice would be a creamy Garlic Chicken.
