Very impressive wine.  It is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 20% Merlot.  This vintage is dedicated to Giuseppe's wine Franca who had passed away shortly before this was released.  The wine is made in the same style as his Amarone's.  The grapes are dried on mats and for a few months before being crushed and turned into wine.  It does come off very Amarone like but with different flavors.  After all, Quintarelli makes some of the best Amarone's as well.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is deep with cherries, black cherries, dried cherries, dark chocolate, slight raisins and char.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  Nice acidity.  On the palate, this is dry and very rich.  15% abv.  Flavors of cherries, black cherries, raisins, slight blueberries, dark chocolate and a bit of warmth.  Long, long finish.  This bottle was decanted for about six hours and that seemed about right.  This should have another ten to twenty years left in it.  It went very well with a Chickpea Stew and a vegetarian Curry.
