2012 L'Ecole No. 41 Apogée Pepper Bridge Vineyard
This could have been a beautiful wine but unfortunately has TCA. Not a lot, but enough to ruin the experience.

This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Purple in color with slight ruby swirls. The nose is interesting with clay, black cherries and cassis. Full bodied. On the palate, this is slightly sweet with cassis and cedar. Nice finish. Drinking well now. Drink over the next five to eight years. A nice match with roasted duck.
This is from fruit from the Champoux Vineyard. Ruby/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. Cassis, graphite, slight burnt rubber and a hint of volatile acidity on the nose. Full bodied. Nice texture. On the palate, cassis with some cedar. Deep and complex. Medium tannins. Long finish. This is showing well and pretty close to peak. No hurry though. Drink over the next ten to twelve years. Better with food. This would work well with Beef Wellington.
Nice trying this wine at age 27. While past prime, this still has something to offer. Purple/ruby in color, flat and mostly opaque. The nose has sandalwood, cherries and dried cherries. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, tasting a bit tired with dried cherries, but also some fresh cherries. Moderate finish. Certainly enjoyable but drink up. Nice with chili or a stew.

Another stunning Syrah from this winery! Syrahs from Washington are unique. They really show the terroir. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, burnt rubber, black olives, smoked meats and spice. Full bodied. Light tannins. Great balance. On the palate, black raspberries, crushed rocks, and black pepper. Long finish. Delicious. This has a certain elegance in it not often found in new world Syrah. No harm opening now, but it should continue to mature and maybe even get better. Great on its own, this would work really well wit
Great showing for this wine from the northwest. It is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc from the Champoux vineyard in the Horse Haven Hills. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, dust, slight black olive, and slight bacon fat notes. Full bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, black cherries, cassis with underlying char. Depth and complexity. Medium tannins. Long finish with some heat on it. This drinks great on its own and will work with bigger foods. Hard to go wrong matching it with a filet. Drink over the next eight to ten years.
When you think of wine you don’t think of wine from Puget Sound. At least not yet. But this Siegerrebe (widely planted in Germany) is from one of the newest frontiers in American winemaking. It offers excellent acidity and a very slight fizz leads into a wine that is unique, mimicking both chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and pinot grigio, but defining its own style. There is defined lemon verbena and lime notes but they are subtle, supported by apricot, white peach, guava, and lychee. ORIGIN: Puget Sound, Washington. ALCOHOL: 12%
