From the Douro Valley, Portugal’s celebrated wine growing region comes, not a fortified wine, but a still red made from the very same grapes. This Post Scriptum offers rustic black cherry, blueberry, mild blackberry, light oak, and a touch of vanilla. Comprised of 56% touriga franca, 33% touriga nacional, and small portions of both tinta roriz, and tinta barroca, it fills the palate with moderate tannins and proper acidity. The fruit stands out and allows the wood and tannins to support it, making this an ideal companion for a variety of foods. There is so much more to Portugal than Port, and Post Scriptum shows this very well.
