Take vines that are 30 years old, grow them in clay soils in one of the best growing regions in the world, add a dash of residual sugar and light carbonation. This La Serra moscato d’asti is the result - a joyful wine that’s simply fun to drink. With a timid frizzante, this well balanced wine offers flavors of golden delicious apples, red delicious apple, honeysuckle, guava, white peach and Asian pear. It’s a very clean and well-executed rendition of moscato. Certainly moscato can be overtly sweet, but this is not the case here; it is a delicate, deftly balanced wine with fruit flavors and light bubbles making this a deal with a variety of foods including sushi.
