In 1987 Argyle was founded with a belief that Oregon’s Willamatte Valley could produce stellar sparkling wines. Since then, Argyle has lead the way. This 2017 Brut offers pleasant light lemony-lime note with hints of guava and pear and back notes of baked soda bread and green apple. It has enough acidity and mild carbonation to make this an easy to drink, easy to pair sparkler (think Indian food). Comprised of 55% chardonnay, 30% pinot noir and 15% pinot meunier the barrel aging was predominately stainless steel, with a mere 5% of the wine aged in neutral oak, therefore this is a lively wine, fresh, crisp and enticing.
