Red Mountain is one of Washington state’s most exciting growing regions. AVA status was achieved in 2001, and now Red Mountain has fifty-four vineyards covering more than 2300 acres, making it one of the most densely planted AVA's with 57% of the AVA currently planted. It is undeniable that the fruit from here is enticing. For 10,000 Hours, their red blend is comprised of 56% cabernet sauvignon, 32% merlot, 7% petite verdot, 3% malbec and 2% cabernet franc. Bold black cherry, black berry, boysenberry with back notes of mocha, clove, delicate tannins and sweet vanilla make this blend a compelling wine. It offers a subtle rusticity that Red Mountain cabernet is known for, while still achieving it’s goal of being a moderately priced wine from an AVA that is heading for rock star status.
