Recently I had the pleasure of two outstanding and aged dessert wines:
1935 Taylor Vintage Port
Ruby in color with some purple hues. The nose is raisins, raspberries and no real signs of advanced age. On the palate, this is so smooth. Red raspberries. Whispers of tannins. Long finish. This was remarkable.
1955 Suduiraut Sauternes
Copper/orange in color, darker, clear and bright. The nose is gorgeous. Honeyed with oranges. On the palate, this is slightly sweet. Obviously mature but not over the hill at all. Oranges and baked honey. Long finish. This brought a wow from me.
